Switch Feel
The Akko V3 Matcha Green Pro feels comfortable with spring weight that isn't too light but also not too heavy. The Akko V3 Matcha Green Pro has a soft bottom out feel that makes it pleasant to type on. With long pole stems gaining popularity, the Akko V3 Matcha Green Pro with almost a full travel provides a more cushioned typing experience than the sudden bottom outs of shorter travel switches. There is slight stem wobble in the Akko V3 Matcha Green Pro but due to the improved stems, it is not noticeable during normal typing.
Switch Sound
The Akko V3 Matcha Green Pro leans towards the "clackier" side during normal typing, but upon closer inspection, the Akko V3 Matcha Green Pro has more dimensions to its sound profile. The Akko V3 Matcha Green Pro on the bottom out has a slightly more muted and softer sound than on the top out. When topping out, the Akko V3 Matcha Green Pro has a harder and louder sound that creates the higher pitched "clack". If we were to be picky, the Akko V3 Matcha Green Pro has some slight hollowness, but this can be easily fixed with optional lube and film.

Switch Feel
The Akko Piano provides comfortable and consistent keypresses, allowing for an incredibly fluid typing experience through the entire actuation. The keypresses of the Akko Piano feel snappy and responsive, but with just enough resistance to provide a comfortable and controlled typing feel. The Akko Piano comes lightly pre-lubed from the factory, however there is a slight scratch that is noticeable on slow keypresses. When hand lubed the Akko Piano shines with a smooth typing experience. When hand lubed, the Akko Piano has the ability to produce a slightly deeper and creamy sound profile as well, allowing it to be a versatile budget switch. The Akko Piano doesn’t have the hollow or harsh tones that some linear switches can produce, giving it a refined, almost melodic sound reminiscent of a soft piano key press. The overall sound profile is subtle, making it great for anyone who prefers a quieter typing experience but still wants some auditory feedback from each key press.
Switch Sound
The sound of the Akko Piano is softer than sound other linear switches, which make it a good option for office work. The Akko Piano creates a soft clack in its stock form. For those that enjoy a clacky sound profile that doesn't sound too sharp then the Akko Piano would be a great budget option to try.

Switch Feel
The typing feel of the Akko V3 Lavender feels as smooth as a polished surface. There is no noticeable scratch and it feels very light and comfortable to type on. I would describe the tactile bump of the Akko V3 Lavender as lowercased "p" shaped since the tactile bump is not as pronounced and there is a good amount of linear post-travel. These switches shine in its tight housing tolerances and its comfortability as a light tactile switch.
Switch Sound
The Akko V3 Lavender has a bright and clacky sound profile. It has a soft and creamy bottom out and a hard a clacky top out. Since most of the well known switches tend to be on the thockier side, the Akko V3 Lavender stands out as a bright sounding tactile. It would be a great option for enthusiasts who enjoy tactile switches but also enjoy a high pitched clacky sound profile.

The Akko V3 Silver Pro leans toward the "clacky" high pitched and brighter sound profile mostly due to its long pole stem and housing materials. As a result of the even shorter travel distance, the Akko V3 Silver Pro sounds clean and crispy. The Akko V3 Silver Pro has a loud and solid bottom out due to the short travel distance and long pole stem and a softer top out due to the light spring weight.

Switch Feel
The Akko Penguin has a sharp "P" shaped tactile bump that feels similar to the tactile bump of a Invyr Holy Panda or Boba U4T. The tactility feels very snappy while the bottom out feels soft and comfortable. The Akko Penguin uses the same silencing mechanism as the Akko Fairy with the silicone on the stem rails. Although they do not feel as mushy for a silent switch because of the responsive tactility.
The Akko Penguin has smooth typing experience with their factory lube in stock form. They also have very minimal stem wobble which provides a clean and crisp feeling silent tactile switch.
Switch Sound
The Akko Penguin is comparable to the Outemu Cream Yellow silent switch in terms of sound. They're silent due to the silicone dampening mechanism, but because of the sharp "P" shaped tactile bump, there is a quiet feedback when actuating the switch. The Akko Penguin has a little bit of scratchiness straight out of the box that can be remedied with hand lubrication.

Switch Feel
The Akko Fairy has a soft and quiet typing experience. It feels very smooth and clean to type on with its factory lube. The Akko Fairy uses silicone on the rails of the stems for its silencing mechanism, which provides a soft typing feel. The Akko Fairy could also provide a more responsive typing experience with its short travel distance and a relatively light spring weight.
In its stock form, the Akko Fairy is similar to the Akko Penguin in terms of smoothness, and slightly scratchier than the Boba U4 which is $0.65 per switch.
Switch Sound
The nylon housing of the Akko Fairy creates a muted but full sound signature that leans towards a lower pitched tone. Overall, it provides a clean silent sound with very minor scratchiness.
The Akko Fairy has a similar volume to the Outemu Cream Yellow and slightly more muted compared to a Boba U4. As a silent switch, the Akko Fairy is a competitive choice especially given its friendly price point. The Akko Fairy is a great option for office work or public settings where you might be more conscious about the typing volume.

Akko Rosewood
Product Details

Name | Akko Rosewood |
Switch Type | Linear |
Top Housing Material | PA12 |
Bottom Housing Material | PA6 |
Stem Material | Nylon |
Operating Force | 40 ± 5gf |
Mount | 5 pin |
Pre Travel | 2.0 ± 0.5mm |
Total Travel | 4.0mm |
Factory Lubed | Yes |
Switch Feel
The Akko Rosewood feels very comfortable to type on without fatigue due to its combination of a light spring weight and long spring length, similar to HMX springs. The Akko Rosewood provides a simplistic typing experience for those who enjoy lighter springs weights. In its stock form, the Akko Rosewood has a bit of stem wobble that is more present in the N/S direction. Filming the switch significantly reduces the stem and housing wobble. The Akko Rosewood would be a great choice to try if you are used to the feel of light-spring switches.
Switch Sound
The Akko Rosewood offers a different sound profile than current releases of linear switches. Some of the current popular linear switches emphasize a sharp bottom out with a poppy top out. The Akko Rosewood is true to its design by achieving a deep and thocky bottom out and a deep and soft top out. The Akko Rosewood produces a sound similar to the sound of familiar full travel switches, producing a full and well rounded bottom out, in contrast to the sharp bottom sounds produced from long pole stems. The Akko Rosewood is a great option to try if you are looking for a deep and thocky switch that doesn't have the sharp bottom out sound.

Akko Botany
Product Details
![]() |
|
Name | Akko Botany |
Switch Type | Linear |
Top Housing Material | PA12 |
Bottom Housing Material | PA6 |
Stem Material | Nylon |
Operating Force | 38 ± 5gf |
Mount | 5 pin |
Pre Travel | 2.0 ± 0.6mm |
Total Travel | 3.6mm |
Factory Lubed | Yes |
Switch Feel
The Akko Botany uses essentially the same materials as the Akko Rosewood. They both have a PA12 top housing material, PA6 bottom housing material, and a nylon stem. Like the Akko Rosewood, the Akko Botany also has a light operating force with a long spring weight creating a comfortable and pleasant typing experience. The Akko Botany is slightly lighter in weight with a 38g operating force, so for heavy typers the Akko Botany might be on the lighter side. The Akko Botany comes factory lubed mainly on the rails of the stem which provides a smooth feeling keypress with no feeling of binding. There is slight wobble in the E/W direction with the N/S direction being slightly tighter, however these are not noticeable during normal typing.
Switch Sound
Although the Akko Rosewood and the Akko Botany are composed of the same materials, the Akko Botany leans toward a brighter sound signature in between the mids and the highs. This could be due to the sharper bottom out from the shorter travel distance and long pole stem in the Akko Botany while the Akko Rosewood has a full travel distance. With the long pole, the Akko Botany has a similar sounding sharp and clacky bottom out but with a soft top out in the mid tones. Overall, creating a mid toned sound profile during normal typing. Akko provides us with two similar options but with very different sounds and feels. The Akko Botany is the long pole and slightly clackier version of the Akko Rosewood. There is some scratch in off center presses, but during normal typing the Akko Botany has a smooth sound. With an application of lube, the Akko Botany has potential to be even smoother and slightly deeper sounding. The Akko Botany would be a great choice for you if you enjoyed the Akko Rosewoods but wanted something slightly brighter.

Akko Mirror

Name | Akko Mirror |
Switch Type | Linear |
Top Housing Material | PA12 |
Bottom Housing Material | Modified Nylon |
Stem Material | POK |
Operating Force | 37 ± 5gf |
Mount | 5 pin |
Pre Travel | 2.0 ± 0.5mm |
Total Travel | 3.5mm |
Factory Lubed | Yes |
Switch Feel
The Akko Mirror, being manufactured by HMX, has a very similar feel to other HMX switches in terms of its smooth keypresses and tight housing tolerances that allow for little stem wobble. At very slow keypresses, the Akko Mirror does have a little bit of the binding or syringe feel at the top due to the tight tolerance between the top housing and the stem, however during normal typing it is not noticeable. The Akko Mirror was aimed to mimic the reflection of a mirror into the sound of the switch, and it has also mimicked the slick feel of a mirror's reflective surface as well. Providing a smooth and comfortable typing experience suitable for work, leisure, and gaming.
Switch Sound
The Akko Mirror achieves the "reflective" sound it was aiming for, producing a clean clacky sound profile. The Akko Mirror has a crisp and high-pitched sound that stands out with its loud volume even among other HMX manufactured switches. The Akko Mirror has a distinctive long pole bottom out sound that is the main driving force behind its loud and clacky sound. If you are looking for a high-pitched linear switch that really brings the keyboard to life and "reflects" its character, then the Akko Mirror is an excellent choice to try out.
Here is a sound test of the Akko Mirror:
Our Final Thoughts
Akko has been known to produce quality switches at more affordable price range. Their switches have been great options to try, with their designs only get better with each iteration. That being said, due to their advancements, the newer molds like the Akko Rosewood, Akko Botany, and Akko Mirror would be some of the best contenders to more expensive priced switches. Their newest models have tight tolerances, excellent factory lube, and a more refined sound. The Akko Fairy and Akko Penguin are also great options for silent switches that still retain a comfortable typing experience. The Akko Silver Pro is a great option for gaming.
