I waited to write this until after i bought about 200 of these bad boys. If you want a spectacularly informed review, check out TheraminGoat's in depth review if these switches.

I've been using tactiles almost exclusively for almost 2 years now. I loved my Gateron Qinns and thought they were the best ever until i tried Gateron type-Rs, which blew my mind. I used type-r's almost exclusively until i came across TheraminGoat's review if these switches in i think January 2026. The review convinced me to buy a single 18 pack to try them out. I fell in love with these switches immediately, but by the time i tried them, they were sold out everywhere. We're finally seeing a round 2 of these switches available, and hopefully they're be available for a long time before they sell out again.

The tactile nature of the switches themselves is a fully tactile capital D, with no/very little linear travel. Functionally the key press is almost identical to a type-R or HMX hydra. I find the lube on these too be very well done so the key press is somewhat another than Hydra or type-R. The sound is what i love most though. The PEI construction gives the switch a loud but solid and thocky sound. I ended up using these with a PEI plate on my recent Tofu65v3.0. i made the build completely foamless with no case or plate foam. I paired it with cherry profile kap keycaps. Despite there being no foam, and no tape on the pcb, it is the deepest keyboard I've used and the deep sounds isn't muffled and has a unique strength/volume that I've never achieved before using foams and tempest tape mod to get a deep thocky sound. I added them to my work W1-AT and it made the board sound so much more pleasant than it sounded previously with type-Rs. I now have a custom PEI plate on order to really make the combo with the switches sing.

Try these out if you love heavy tactiles, but want to try something that isn't super high pitched and clacky. If combined with aluminum or CF plates you can get really great medium tones. The price is great and the quality is top notch. Now that i have my stockpile of golden apples, feel free to get a bunch before they sell out again!

Also, if you ever come across Wingtree golden apple v2's, they're very similar to these but the lube is not quite as good, closer to the type-R which is great but not as consistent and smooth as the Bsun v1. The sound is pleasantly deep as well but the switch is a little quieter then the bsun v1. If i were trying to make a deep thocky but quiet build (say for an office setting), I'd use all the foams and wingtree v2's, but if i wanted my personal favorite sound and best possible push feel, I'd go foamless with bsun v1's

This board is simply fantastic! The aluminum case is such a high quality and the board sounds amazing stock (if you get the prebuilt). I was very surprised by how much I really enjoyed the sound and feel of the Coconut Latte switches. In fact, I modded my sandgold Max102 to have the HMX Toast switches and the difference in sound is very subtle, so even just sticking with the Coconut Lattes you can't go wrong. This keyboard feels just so premium, it's got some really nice heft to it and I love that it comes with on board dongle storage for the 2.4Gz connection - you don't often see that with aluminum boards! The RGB is phenomenal as well and this keyboard is also very easy to customize using VIA. In fact, I had to do that because I use MacOS primarily and I love using my function row keys to control my multimedia. Out of the box, even with the keyboard in Mac mode, the function row keys were not working as expected, but after fiddling around a bit, I was able to get it figured out and now I love love my Weikav. Love it so much I got it in two colors - the black and the sandgold. Both are just stunning. I would say if you are between colors, definitely go for the other more vibrant colors. The black is not bad, but I think compared to my sandgold, it's a bit plain.

Lastly, I have to comment on the customer service of LumeKeebs. When my sandgold arrived, it had a PCB issue, so the keyboard was malfunctioning in wired mode and I could not connect it wirelessly either. I got this board because of the appeal that it had to be being tri-mode and all, so to not be able to use it in the mode I often gravitate to the most (wired) was frustrating. I reached out to LumeKeebs, explained my issue, provided them with evidence, and they made the situation right by sending me a replacement PCB very quickly and that resolved my issue. I will definitely be ordering from LumeKeebs again because their customer service is simply outstanding! They ship so quickly and so despite currently being located on the west coast and my living in the east coast, my keyboards arrived to me very quickly.

With the front lights and the full foam these are the best keyboards you can by and well worth it at the under $100 price point. I appreciated Lumekeebs offered the thicker non-flex switch plate as an option pre-installed at no additional charge.

They sound and feel so good nice and thocky

These are a great semi silent switch, they feel super smooth to type on, lightweight, satisfying and firm at the bottom rather than mushy, and gave my metal case aluminum plate keyboard a sort of quiet thock, kind of like a thud. A nice sound but still quiet enough for the office. soooo pleasantly surprised with these!

I've been on a huge tactile kick over the last year and a half, but with a recent clacky keyboard build i decided to switch it up and grab some new clacky HMX switches. Whelp, these didn't disappoint! as i was looking for a bright sounding switch for a clacky tofu 65v3.0 build. I used these stock with a carbon fiber plate, foamless, and this keyboard sings. I prefer heavier springs, usually only considering 65g switches. When buying these, i ordered a set of 67 gram springs, but after testing the switches stock, they're just fine as is. If you're a heavy typist who sees the 50 gram springs as being a little light, try them out first. They're lighter than a standard 65g spring, but not by a whole lot. Didn't have lubing or spring crunch issues at all. Also, these switches are absolutely gorgeous. Too bad they aren't visible.

Everything went smoothly, the order was shipped super fast and was delivered in Europe in around 2 weeks. The packaging has some superficial scratches, but honestly it's expected after travelling thousands of miles.

All the switches were in perfect conditions and they work just as expected. I've installed them on my Neo65Cu and they sound awesome, clacky in a refined way. I have the copper bottom, aluminum plate and I'm only using PCB foam.

Would recommend the seller and the switches.

best sounding switches to date

QK Alice Duo is an ergonomic split keyboard based on the Alice layout. The kit is incredibly well made and offers a lot of choices for the discerning keyboard enthusiast. Worth the money and the wait.

These are great — very quiet, which I love, with a deep, thocky sound that’s exactly what I prefer. I 100% recommend them if you’re into deep thock.

Love these tactile switches. They are smooth and yet so poppy also have nice tactile bump feedback.

I have pre-ordered the keyboard back in the end of April all the way to the UK and received it in the middle-end August. I am typing this review on the new keyboard! Initially the PCB with my order arrived with a problem so LumeKeebs have dispatched a replacement PCB and a daughter board that I have replaced. The DIY kit is fairly cool, it includes 2 different types of gasket and plenty of little extra parts in case one slips away somewhere. The stabilisers could use some improvement, they clip on to the board and have little slots to keep the clips from falling out of the board. Putting these in could feel a little bit fiddly, at least I found it a little bit fiddly. And either I did a really bad job lubing them or their design could be a little bit improved. I did look up a video on Youtube on how to put the keyboard together because it's my first time fully building a keyboard kit, usually the furthest I'd go is a tape mod on a pre-built. This keyboard had a lot more layers going on but the fact that everything was magnetic and perfectly shaped certainly helped the process. I am happy to say that I managed and if you are considering getting this as your first full build - go for it! It looks absolutely stunning on my desk, I got a lilac-coloured board and paired it with Osume Lilac Dreams marshmallow keycap set and a limited purple artisan from Mintlodica! Overall really impressed with the keyboard and infinitely grateful to LumeKeebs for helping me out with my queries and doing everything to make sure that everything goes smoothly every step of the way!

Really impressed with the Lucky 65 V2. I think in this price range you cannot really ask for much more that this. Full aluminum frame with a nice weight to it. The FR4 plate is good. I would have preferred a POM option w/o flex cuts, but it works well and is a quality PCB. The ball catch system is cool and adds to the ease of customization. Lots of included foam layers to keep or remove based on personal preference.
I purchased the barebones version in black and out of the box, it is flawless. No defects or issues to be seen. Also, no issues with setup. I plugged it in, loaded the JSON file to VIA and was good to go in no time at all.
I am currently using hand lubed and filmed Akko Rosewood switches with the Wuque WOB Doubleshot PBT keycaps and loving the deep sound signature and feel from this board. No case ping or unwanted resonance. I prefer all the foams so I have not modified the keyboard at all. I will admit, it does sound a little muted with everything left stock and Rosewoods are a fairly quiet switch, but that is my preference.
I cannot speak on the wireless capability or performance as I am a gamer and leave all my keyboards plugged in but it is nice to have when needed. Also a nice touch that they have a place to stash your wireless dongle in the back.
Overall I am very happy with this board and think it is a steal to get something this nice under $90. It is nothing flashy- no volume knobs, lcd screens or fancy gold/copper/brass weights nobody will ever see. It is simple, understated, and just what I was looking for.
